Description
This presentation By Professor Donna Geddes takes a foundational approach to understanding the relationship between breast anatomy, milk flow dynamics, and breast shield design. Using real-time ultrasound imaging, you will explore how different shield characteristics can directly impact milk removal efficiency during expression. Participants will gain insight into the physiological mechanisms, optimal expression settings, and the impact of shield design features on milk removal from the breast. By returning to these fundamental principles, we will be better equipped to support mothers in achieving effective milk expression based on her individual anatomy and physiology. This webinar includes a question and answer session with Professor Donna Geddes. The presentation is hosted in English, and viewers can enable subtitles in their preferred language by selecting the subtitle option in the YouTube settings menu.
Objectives
Participants will be able to identify key expression factors and strategies to maximize milk removal Participants will be able to assess the relationship between breast anatomy, milk flow, and shield fit during expression to improve expression efficacy Upon completion of this presentation, participants will be able to evaluate breast shield characteristics and design features that influence milk transfer dynamics
Certificate
